Three years have passed since the fires of a brutal conflict, but peace is a fragile thing. On a secluded farm, a half-orc warrior battles the haunting shadows of her past, her spirit scarred by the violence she wrought and endured. Alongside her, a gentle healer from a moon-touched people seeks to mend not only the warrior's wounds but her own, drawing upon ancient traditions in a desperate search for solace.

Their hard-won tranquility shatters with the arrival of a messenger from the warrior's estranged mountain clan. Her mother is dying, and the winds from the peaks carry chilling whispers: human encroachment tightens its grip, and the fragile truce between humans and orcs is fraying. A powerful human noble house, burning with shame and a thirst for dominance after a kinsman's ignominious death, prepares to unleash a brutal reckoning upon the orcish tribes, with the warrior's own people in their sights.

Torn between the life she has built and the duty she cannot ignore, the warrior is summoned home. With her beloved’s unwavering love as her anchor, she must confront not only the encroaching human threat but the ghosts of her own making. As winter descends upon the formidable mountains, old wounds bleed anew, and the cycle of violence threatens to consume everything she holds dear. Can she protect her people without becoming the monster she fears, or will the ashes of the past ignite a conflagration that devours all hope for a new spring?
