Bloody Spring

Two years after a brutal war saw humans conquer the deepwood with gunpowder and steel, the land remains scarred. The Felari hunters and the song-filled Velune now live under human rule, their sacred traditions suppressed.  

In the misty village of Kitsune Hollow, nestled at the forest's edge, kindness is a fragile commodity. At the Fox's Veil brothel, a young Velune woman named Sayo becomes the victim of a horrific act of violence. When the indifferent hand of human law offers only monetary compensation instead of justice, the women of the Veil take matters into their own hands. They secretly pool their meager earnings to place a bounty on the attackers' heads, seeking a reckoning the law denies them.  

Word of this desperate plea for justice reaches Haruko Shimatta, a legendary Felari warrior once known as the "Crimson Whisper," now living a quiet life as a farmer and widow. Pulled back into the violent world she swore to leave behind by the need to provide for her children, Haruko takes up the bounty. Teaming up with an old mercenary acquaintance and a brash young half-orc warrior, Haruko must navigate a path fraught with danger, confronting not only her targets but also the ghosts of her past and the ruthless paladin enforcing the Hollow's rigid laws.  

"Bloody Spring" is a story about the cost of justice, the weight of violence, and the resilience found in unlikely alliances when memory refuses to burn and the forest itself seems to remember the taste of blood.
